Privacy notice
How Primrose & Proper uses personal information on this website. We are a small London home cleaning company.
Version 2026-09-09
1. Who we are
Primrose and Proper Ltd (company number 17441337), trading as Primrose & Proper, is the controller for personal data collected through this site. We are registered in England and Wales. Our registered office is 20 Wenlock Road, London N1 7GU. To contact us about privacy, use the telephone number or email address shown on the site.
2. What we collect on public forms
When you request a call or write about working with us, we ask for your name, email address, telephone number, postcode, and any notes you choose to leave (for example preferred days or experience). We do not ask for payment card details on these forms.
If you create an account with an invite code, we also store your password (stored only as a secure hash), your notification preferences, and a record that you accepted the current service agreement (including time and IP address).
3. Why we use it
We use enquiry details to telephone you about cleaning or a possible role, and to decide whether we can look after your area. If we invite you to the portal, we may send the invite code by email and, where a text service is in use, by text message. For portal accounts we use the details to let you log in, arrange visits, and send the messages you have opted to receive. The lawful bases we rely on are legitimate interests (responding to an introduction or work enquiry) and, for accounts, contract / steps you ask us to take before a contract.
4. How long we keep it
Open enquiries are kept while we are corresponding with you, then deleted or reduced when they are no longer needed for that purpose.
Account records are kept for as long as the account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards if we need them for the household relationship or legal duties.
Significant changes to a client or cleaner account — for example profile and contact details, away dates, time off, payment preferences, or regular hours — are logged whether you make them in the portal or ask our office to do so by telephone. Each entry records the account affected, the type of change, who made it (you, our staff, or the system), and when. We do not store passwords in this log. We keep these records for twelve months, then delete them automatically.
We may also keep limited delivery records for emails and texts we send. Message content on older records is routinely removed while we keep enough detail to troubleshoot delivery problems.
5. Who we share it with
We do not sell your details. We may use trusted service providers to send email or text messages, or to host the website. They process data only on our instructions. We may share information if the law requires it.
6. Cookies and analytics
Logging in uses a session cookie so we know who you are. In production we may use GoatCounter, a privacy-friendly analytics tool that does not use advertising cookies. Fonts are served from this site; we do not load them from Google.
7. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask for a copy of your personal data, ask us to correct it, delete it where appropriate, or restrict how we use it. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). Write or telephone us first if you can — we will try to help promptly.
8. Changes
If we change this notice we will update this page. English law applies.
